co-workers lying about damaging company car?
Byim having this real trouble with nasty female co-workers, who damaged the company car when i was in it, by hitting a railing in a multi-storey car park they shouldnt have been in.
i thought they were telling the maangers the truth and when i heard them how they were going to lie about it and say they parked it in a car park, came back and found it like that. i told the manager the truth.
there’s 2 of them and one of me, i have provided manager with full details dates, times, how it happened, where, why, when it happened, what they said. i said the car park im sure has cctv if you want to go down that route and check, also the idiot driver told another member of staff who i said if you wish to phone her and ask her she should be able to tell you the truth. i just hope this other employee tells the truth she dosent know her so she should.
the two female co-workers have been pals for yrs and are still sticking to their pathetic story, surely my manager cant believe them?
he said to send a full report to him earlier today which i did but i havent heard anything since, those girls are liers and they are now trying to blame me for breaking equipment, ive told my managers that this is all lies, at no point did i break any piece of equipment, 1x of the piece of equipment in question that they accused me of breaking was actually damaged by the manager himself so he said dont worry about that, and they said i broke a light well i told him i didnt actually handle the light and the light has been reported as faulty from start
how have they got a leg to stand on, what will happen next? as the car is to be returned to a hire company will there not need to be a full investigation for insurance purposes, cctv evidence checked out, technical evidence?
the manager (male) has been the only one who i feel has listened to my side of the story and told me to send a full report, whereas the other manager (female) i feel is taking their side, because ive got flu i told them i couldnt attend the meeting with them all today to discuss it she said as you are not attending i will have to bill you for the items!
i then phoned the manager (male) and send him my statement via email. i also told him how they were both bad mouthing him personally and the other manager which they were – making nasty comments. and told them exactly what they had said about them.
i am telling the truth im not scared of those girls, i just want my managers see that they are blatantly lying.
what should i do?
Ps. i wont be working for the company again as its a short term contract and will never see those girls again, they better not come round to my house!

sounds like this has got completely out of hand-is it really that important in the grand scheme of things
it was a company car-they will claim on insurance
you are only on a short term contract and wont be staying there so why are you getting so upset about it
you should have gone to the meeting as it was obviously set up to resolve all this petty arguing
just let it go, you will be moving on so you will never have to work with any of these people again

Firstly, well done for being honest from the start. Liars will almost always be found out in the end.
I would stick by your account of things. I know it’s easier said than done, but as you’ve done nothing wrong I would try not to worry.
Althought not the best way of doing things, the excuse they are using does seem to be the “norm” these days, especially with regards to hire cars.
I would say, have a nice cuppa tea and relax. Try not to worry.
good luck

I think you have done enough to clear yourself, so don’t worry, keep records of incident and your statement just in case, never know.
Move on in life, hate to see ya if ya shot someone and they died?

Wow, I’m glad I don’t work on your team.
LOOK…. It’s a damaged car, or rather an insured damaged car. No one was hurt right? So why GRASS anyone up when a bit of metal gets damaged that will be put right under an insurance agreement? Oh too late, you did grass on them.
Rather than just grassing them about the damaged car, you then proceed to twist the knife on them for badmouthing the bosses too! Very noble – sorry, but you did ask.
What should you do now? I’d run if I were you.

Simple if you have told the truth then you are about to be witness to whether justice really is blind and whether truth really does prevail.
Wish you luck
