Hi, I am nearly 17 years old and I am going to University in a couple of years time. My boyfriend is 22 and he is going to move with me. We are thinking ahead and trying to find out prices of flats in different areas. I am wanting to do drama at Uni and have decided that I either want to go to London or Weymouth/Plymouth (joint course). I know London is expensive but I would prefer to go here if I can get in there. My boyfriend is looking at taking another computer course so he can get a better job and we are going to start saving. However, I have been looking at prices on the internet and it has scared me how expensive the flats are. Has anyone got any advice they can give? Or does anyone know of any cheaper but nice-ish areas or cheaper flats? Or good websites or anything really? Please help! Thank you xxx
We are looking to rent and my course will be about 3 years. Or would it be cheaper overall to buy?

I’m in London, my landlord took a deposit on the grounds that I’d find a replacement for the room before returning it. He rents out 6 rooms in his house individually – we were given NO short term assured tenancy agreement, or any contract of any kind. We receive no receipts for rent paid – and we believe he is doing this to avoid paying taxes on his income.
I feel as though he wasn’t forthcoming with just how difficult it was for him to find someone to fill the room when I made that agreement 6 months ago. I’ll forfeit the deposit before subjecting someone else to this hole – but I’m wondering where I stand legally – is he allowed to withhold it?

My husband and I want to go to London for about 2 months and would like to rent a fully furnished and equiped flat rather than stay in a hotel for that long.
What would it cost? How do we find a flat? we would like good light, a safe location-not a student flat, must have heat and hot water -also be near or reasonably near the tube. We like Kensington and Chelsea areas. But are willing to look elsewhere.
Any suggestions?
