Renting Flat – How it works?

If I was to rent out my flat but keep a residential mortgage in the short term, is this achieveable? What happens with Council tax for example as surely this would be in your name so would the tenants pay this? Would you need to declare any earnings over mortgage costs?

Ive been in temporary accommadation for 6 years council will not move me because of my rent arrears.please hel?

I am a single mother of two children one of which is special needs.i have been placed in temporary accomadation now for the last 6 years.im living in a two bedroom flat on the top floor.In the last 3 years i have been begging the local council to rehouse us in a two bedrrom house as my boys are growing up and need more room also would benifit my eldest son (who has special needs) to have a garden.The council refuse becoz i owe £800 in arrears i cannott get this money from anyone as i have no family support.to add to my problems the landlord where i am living at the moment wants us out in the next 2 months, the council have offered me a 2 bedroon flat again on the top floor too far away from my kids school and i dont drive,they said if i dont accept it i will be declaring myself homeless basically i have no choice.How can i be put in temporary accomadation for six years its disgusting .The landlord has not maintained the property once in six years its filth,the reason he wants us out is because he has not got the money to keep the flat in a liveable state..Has anyone got any advice as to what i can do please.x

hi im in council/social housing and 2 months ago i took in my friend to use this address temporary until he found somewhere, i declared this to the social office but did not declare to the council,currently he has found a flat and he has to write my address on the council forms will i be investigated now

I am looking to rent short term so wouldnt want to pay a high rent at the same time would need somewhere decent. I amy possibly buy my own house/flat after a year, again what would be good places for this, close to scholls and citycentre with good tansport links

I don’t mind just a bedroom rental somewhere instead of an entire flat and i wouldn’t be moving until late 2008 anyway. The thing is I don’t have that much money to be spending on rent and my job over there probably won’t be paying a great deal either. Thanks for whatever help you can give me!

return of deposit when I decided not to rent the flat?

Hello,

I have found a flat where I wanted to move in and have paid a deposit for the flat in full one month amouth. The landlord seems to be having some troubles to have the flat ready for us in the time we have agreed for. So I got a bit worried and spoke with my friends and they offered me a better and cheaper accomodation. I did not sign anything, I just paid the deposit.. can I get my money back in full amouth? Thank You

i need to move out from my dad and find work , but i want my own place . i need a flat or a apartment in a safe area near the city centre. but there have been some cheap ones to let but for a short term deal. i am looking to pay 300- to 4 max for a reasonable place. can anyone help me ?

I need to find a flat/house in Wellington for short term rental?

I’m going to be working there from November 2008 until February 2009, so 4 months. Will I be able to rent somewhere in Wellington for this length of time? Probably a shared flat to keep costs down but I can be flexible.
