About how much on top of rent does having a flat cost each month?

My husband and I need to move. I’ve been looking at flat rentals in the West midlands but I’ve never rented before. Also everything seems to be for at least six months which isn’t very helpful as we’ll probably be moving for job reasons before then. What can I expect to pay on top of rent? Does anyone know of any short term lets in the West Midlands?

depends on whether you get one furnished or not you will have your normal bills deposit which is usually one month in advance food of course after that its up to you tv cable etc repairs and maintenance and repairs are the landlords responsibility be careful renting is a tricky game make sure you have a propper agreement signed go to citizens advice they will tell you what is standard n rental and your rights as a tenant

The minimum rental term under the Landlord and Tenant Act is 6 months – anything less would be a holiday let.
You would also have to pay Council Tax, Water Rates and utilities – the amounts would depend on the size of the property you were renting.
